A ‘Great Bunch’ inspires Run

South Lafourche’s 2013 run to the championship wasn’t an accident.
It’s actually been brewing ever since these bunch of Tarpons started swimming together on the hardwood. “This is a great bunch of kids,” South Lafourche coach Jason LeBoeuf said.
“Not once do you have to tell these girls anything about attitude or effort or anything like that. They are talented, but they are good kids. It’s not always easy getting this many 12-year-old girls to focus, but they have character and make my job easier.”
Champions! Tarpons take U10 Biddy Nationals crown
The Tarpons beat Mandeville 31-28 on Tuesday night to bring home the Single A Biddy Nationals Title – the first-ever boys’ basketball championship in South Lafourche Biddy Basketball’s history. South Lafourche beat Mandeville yesterday in a 15-point game. The Tarpons’ size advantage was profound down the stretch with the 1-2 paint punch of Lane Gaubert and Lane Terrebonne both earning All-American Honors. Also taking home All-American for South Lafourche was Christian Theriot and Koda Hunter. In the finals, they had to show resolve and moxie – two things that Coach Jobie Cantrelle said his team has had all season. Cantrelle said in a radio interview today that the team was mature beyond its years and filled with talented playmakers. He said his team was also bought in and focused on the goal – to win the tournament and bring the trophy home.
